Supervise the completion of Medicare and Medicaid cost reports to obtain appropriate reimbursement from these programs and monitor hospitals' compliance with HCA reimbursement policies. Supervise up to 3 Reimbursement Managers and oversee the preparation and audit of Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare cost reports to ensure all report filings are completed and filed in adherence with federal and state regulatory guidelines. Assist staff with the preparation and review of accounting entries to record cost reports. Revise data elements used to compute contractual adjustments based on the latest annual cost report and periodic interim cost reports. Compose and review Concuity rate input for logging models. Assist in the review of hospital monthly contractual adjustment computations for accuracy and compliance with policies. Ensure data collection for cost reporting is compliant and stay updated on operational changes; answer questions as needed. Provide external and internal auditors with data and support used to prepare cost reports and address questions regarding filings. Critically review external auditor proposed adjustments to cost reports and decide, with the Managing Director and corporate appeals team, which adjustments should be appealed. Communicate compliance and risk issues to the Managing Director and Division Directors. Serve as a resource on reimbursement matters to hospital personnel and other stakeholders. Assist in preparation of feasibility studies for new services and assist with Medicare and Medicaid DSH work as needed. Assist with identifying potential departmental education topics. Qualifications
