Overview Anderson International Corp, headquartered in Stow, OH, is a world leader in liquid/solid separation technology and a 2024 Top Workplace. We serve multiple industries including polymer/rubber, vegetable oil, and pet feed. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. This role emphasizes cost accounting expertise, including job costing and standard cost analysis, and a track record of leading process improvements, training programs, and profitability initiatives. The Controller will partner with operations and leadership to provide financial discipline and actionable insights to support growth and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of cost accounting, including job costing, standard costing, variance analysis, and overhead allocation.

Analyze manufacturing and operational data to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.

Maintain and improve costing models to support accurate financial reporting and decision-making.

Prepare detailed cost reports and KPIs for management review.

Work with Senior Leadership to identify, develop, and implement cross-function process improvements to improve gross profit, on-time shipments, accuracy, speed, and efficiency in transactions.

Lead or support ERP/system upgrades or changes, ensuring accurate cost integration and data integrity.

Develop SOPs and best practices to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Design and deliver training programs for accounting staff and cross-functional teams on cost accounting principles and processes.

Mentor and develop the accounting team to build capabilities and performance.

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes; support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with financial analysis.

Partner with leadership to improve profitability through cost control, pricing strategies, and performance metrics; ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or senior cost accounting role.

Strong background in cost accounting in manufacturing or project-based environments; experience with job costing and standard costing.

Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives; ability to train and lead teams.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
