Tax Director (Trust) - Up to $225k + Bonus

Our client is a family-office PE firm based in West Los Angeles, with a $XB in AUM focusing on the RE and technology sectors. They are seeking a Tax Director to join their growing team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of owning significant aspects of the firm's tax and reporting functions. Compensation Details
Up to $225k base salary
20% bonus, paid in cash at year-end
In-office Requirement 3 days per week in West LA
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all tax compliance aspects, including filings for individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and private foundations.
Manage and review K-1s, tax returns, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Interpret and apply complex tax laws relevant to family office operations.
Collaborate with the General Partner to evaluate deductions and profit interest implications across entities.
Lead a team of five, managing interest bookings, dividend reconciliations, and transaction recordings on a cash basis.
Oversee month-end closing activities, including partnership accounting and profit interest allocations.
Review significant transactions, such as real estate sales, ensuring proper documentation.
Mentor and oversee direct reports, fostering professional growth.
Work closely with external tax advisors (EY) and accounting firms to streamline processes.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
Analyze tax and accounting data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
Ensure transparent reporting tailored to family office needs.
Required Qualifications
Over 10 years of experience in tax roles, preferably with Big 4 or national firms.
Masters of Taxation and/or CPA certification preferred; Bachelor's in finance, economics, or accounting/tax is mandatory.
Extensive experience in hedge fund accounting or family office tax operations, focusing on cash-basis accounting.
Experience with trust and partnership tax reporting is a plus.
