The Instrument Technician III has completed a training program and has at least 1 year experience in a SPD department. This role is responsible for care, cleaning, handling and reprocessing of instruments and equipment. This role decontaminates instruments and equipment to hospital and regulatory guidelines. Assembles and wraps trays for sterilization following procedures and loads and operates sterilizers. Uses knowledge of instrumentation, blood and body fluid precautions, disinfection techniques, and methods of sterilization to performs quality assurance monitoring. Documents according to policy and procedures. Knowledge of supplies, instrumentation, disinfection techniques, and methods of sterilization. Assists with orienting new hires and students and perform relief duties. In a professional and welcoming manner performs other duties as assigned. The Instrument Technician III is also responsible for providing coordination and assembly of surgery case carts. Accurately completes inventory lists for trays and surgeon preference cards, signs, and dates. Reviews instrument and inventory supplies, restocks, proactively identifies supply/instrumentation needs, gathering of supplies needed for a specific case, and assists with O.R. sterilization processes. The Tech III must have at least 2 of the 3 specialties in SPD- Instrument Room (decon, prep/pack/sterilization), GI scope room, and Case Cart. Qualifications
Minimum 1 year experience in Sterile Processing required. Knowledge of surgical terminology, instrumentation, and supplies. Basic computer skills. Sterile processing and Case Cart experience. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. License Required: N/A License Preferred: N/A Certifications Required: N/A Certifications Preferred: CRCST or CBSPD certification About Us
