Director of Accounting . Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Accounting to lead their accounting function, which oversees the General Ledger and Revenue Accounting teams. This position will be an integral member of the Chief Accounting Officer leadership team and will be responsible for significant change management efforts and other process improvements, as the company works to streamline its financial close process by modernizing its ERP consolidation and reporting process, point-of-sale systems, and other technology implementations. This role is also critical in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep accounting expertise, and advanced IT system implementation experience – preferably in the hospitality industry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Finance Shared Services
As the strategic leader of the accounting function, this position is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger. Lead and manage the General Ledger and Revenue Accounting teams (4 direct reports, total team of 12), responsible for: Timely financial close for month and quarter-end, providing critical informed decision-making and allowing accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting. Finance governance of the company’s chart of accounts and reporting relationships, in partnership with other key stakeholders, and oversight of the global consolidation process. Identification of unique or unusual transactions requiring proactive cross-departmental collaboration with technical accounting or other teams. Key control oversight, including review and posting of manual journal entries and review of general ledger reconciliations, ensuring a thorough process to provide audit readiness through well-documented records, robust financial integrity, and regulatory compliance. Performance monitoring to provide feedback on the company’s financial and operational performance to identify areas for improvement. This position will be a critical thought partner in the Finance IT roadmap project to enable future scalability of the general ledger and revenue accounting functions. Exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role, as the Director will regularly engage with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners. IT Implementation and Consolidation Modernization
This position will be a key strategic leader in the modernization of the Company’s consolidation process, shifting that process from an external reporting solution into the integrated ERP system. This position will also be a critical leader for future point-of-sale integrations as the company works to streamline and consolidate its systems to allow for future scalability. Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls; work closely with internal audit and other stakeholders related to recurring controls and new system implementations. Partner with accounting leadership to design and optimize internal controls, including automation and system improvements. Leadership & Team Development
Influence and gain alignment from key stakeholders around a business case for change and work with existing process owners to plan and execute against the established roadmap. Lead and develop high-performing teams; must have at least 6 years of experience managing accounting teams in a growth-oriented environment. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance. Education & Qualifications
Education CPA preferred Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with: At least 6 years managing accounting teams in a growth-oriented environment Strong understanding of and experience with finance systems, including advanced ERP and global consolidation experience Background in multi-divisional and multi-national corporate environments (preferred) Ideal Experience
Deep Expertise in U.S. GAAP and SOX Compliance Management experience in a broad range of finance roles Strong understanding of and experience with finance systems Extensive experience developing and leading teams Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal Must be able to communicate and present ideas/issues to the executive finance team Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving business environment Strategic thinker with a hands-on, proactive leadership style Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism Compensation
