Job Description
AECOM is seeking a motivated
Entry-Level Civil Engineer
to join our Surface Water team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience in hydrology, hydraulics, and civil design to support surface water and stormwater management projects with ENR’s #1 ranked water engineering firm. Responsibilities Assist in the design and analysis of stormwater management systems, drainage networks, and flood control infrastructure. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling for floodplain studies, culverts, bridges, detention basins, and channel improvements. Support preparation of engineering drawings, technical reports, and construction documents under the guidance of senior engineers. Conduct fieldwork including topographic data collection, condition assessments, and construction observation. Contribute to watershed and stormwater master planning efforts through data analysis and GIS integration. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and CAD/BIM designers to deliver high-quality, resilient solutions. Stay current on industry standards, codes, and sustainable engineering practices in surface water and stormwater design. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field), or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications Internship or collegiate project experience in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater, or surface water design. Familiarity with H&H modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, XP-SWMM, or similar). Exposure to GIS tools for hydrologic analysis and mapping.
