KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced and highly motivated Senior Training Aircraft Readiness Data Scientist, to join our team. This position will be onsite at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD with teleworking opportunity. Overview: The Training Aircraft Readiness Data Scientist (Senior) will support the Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program which this position supports is responsible for managing the aircraft, simulators, and associated systems that support the U.S. Navy’s undergraduate pilot training pipeline. Primary Duties: Lead advanced training aircraft readiness analysis, applying statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and readiness metrics evaluation to identify trends, assess training aircraft readiness performance, and provide actionable insights that improve mission availability. Provides high-level subject matter expertise, analysis, and technical guidance to support project execution. Qualifications: Proficiency in analyzing and extracting data from DoD aviation maintenance and logistics systems (e.g., NALDA, OOMA, DECKPLATE). Experience working with aircraft maintenance, logistics, and readiness data to evaluate fleet performance and operational availability. Knowledge of DoD aviation maintenance processes, readiness metrics (Full-Mission Capable (FMC) & Mission Capable (MC) rates) and reporting standards. Ability to integrate data across multiple DoD systems to perform trend analysis, predictive maintenance forecasting, and readiness assessments. Familiarity with DoD data governance, security, and compliance requirements, including handling of controlled unclassified information (CUI). Experience building dashboards and readiness reports for senior leadership and program managers within defense organizations. Expertise in applying statistical and analytical methods directly to aircraft sustainment and operational readiness problems. Education and Experience: Management, Technical or Scientific MS or MA degree from an accredited college or university. An allowable substitution is a Business, Management, Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience. Must have at least ten (10) years of recent and relevant experience in an engineering or operations analysis position, three (3) of which must be directly related to DoD systems. Clearance: This position is subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. In order to complete the requirements for government security clearance investigation you must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to complete the full background investigation. This position requires an Active Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a higher clearance if required. Compensation: While skills, education, and experience are key factors, they are not the sole determinants of salary. Other determining factors include but are not limited to location, contract budgets and requirements, and government labor category guidelines. The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000-$150,000. KAIROS also provides a comprehensive benefits package as additional employee compensation.
