An established construction GC in the Walnut Creek, CA area is looking to hire a Project Accountant to its growing team. This position is on-site 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction project accounting. Their projects range from $50MM to $100MM for new development construction. Job Details Our company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Permanent Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Accounting and Finance industry. This role is critical to our construction projects, ensuring the financial integrity and transparency of our operations. Responsibilities Manage all project-related accounting tasks for our construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and compliance. Utilize software like Timberline, Sage, and Vista Viewpoint to ensure accurate and efficient financial management. Prepare and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) reports and percentage-of-completion schedules. Process payment applications (pay apps) and lien waivers, ensuring all payments are accurate and timely. Oversee project cost accounting, ensuring all costs are accurately allocated and reported. Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including AIA requirements. Regularly review and update financial processes and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Participate in project meetings and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry. Proficient in project accounting software such as Timberline, Sage, and Vista Viewpoint. Experience with Work in Progress (WIP) reports, percentage-of-completion schedules, pay apps, lien waivers, and project cost accounting. Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and standards, including AIA requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
