Overview
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) is a priority area for Mastercard, expected to accelerate volume and revenue growth for the company. This high-profile role will partner with the Mastercard SME team to drive the business forward and maximize ROI. This role has a broad remit and will include P&L management, business case & decision support, investment optimization, FP&A, ad-hoc analytics, and special projects. Responsibilities
Build and maintain close relationships with business partners to provide financial/business case support and inform decision making. Partner with regional finance teams and Corporate Planning to devise targets/operating budget, financial forecasts, variance analysis, and risks/opportunities for the Commercial Solutions and/or SME team. Develop, track, and analyze key business performance metrics and share insights with business partners and senior leaders. Manage month and quarter-end financial close processes. Ensure accruals and amortization entries are booked in the proper period. Maintain expense trackers to understand spend, find efficiencies, and refine future forecasts. Maintain a thorough understanding of costs, drivers, and variances to forecast. Support senior-level reviews (e.g., board decks, monthly CEO/CFO update, monthly business reviews) with performance tracking, key insights & outlooks, and ad-hoc analytics, presented clearly for senior management. Assist product teams with business cases for strategic initiatives that may require incremental investment; provide thought leadership to refine the ask and help achieve goals for current and future years. Support effective cost management and drive financial discipline. Work with Commercial product and engineering teams to identify, measure and deliver expense efficiency targets and drive process improvements. Coordinate with Engineering and Engineering Finance to provide a consolidated Commercial financial view. Collaborate with Tax, Legal, Controllership and other functions to structure and account for new product initiatives. Develop financial models and analyses to support business strategies and evaluate new opportunities. Analyze client-level actual and forecasted revenue trends to identify opportunities and risks and incorporate findings into the forecast. Ensure a sound, well-controlled financial environment. Support investor relations by providing insight into drivers of past performance and future expectations. All About You
Advanced modeling and analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative). Excellent project management, follow-up and organizational skills. Ability to work on several projects/workstreams simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Intellectually curious and driven to tell the story behind the numbers. Demonstrated risk-taking, business acumen, commitment, and urgency. Ability to translate data into meaningful information and present complex information concisely for senior management. Executive presence and ability to influence; strong analytical horsepower. Comfortable interacting with all levels of management. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related discipline; MBA preferred.
