Controller – Manufacturing Organization (West Side of Chicago) LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a client on a Controller search for a privately held manufacturing organization located in West Side of Chicago. This is a unique opportunity to lead core accounting functions and partner with senior leadership on business initiatives and continued steady growth. Position Overview: The Controller will oversee the organization’s general accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, and AP/AR functions. This role will also serve as the primary liaison to external audit and tax firms and will collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting and forecasting. The Controller will play a key role in software implementation and enhancing financial reporting and analysis capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead the general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting processes. Oversee cost accounting operations and ensure accurate product costing and inventory valuation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Serve as the point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts. Contribute to ERP and financial systems implementation and optimization. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting and operational efficiency. Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial initiatives. Qualifications: Minimum of 7 years of broad based accounting leadership within a smaller company or division setting Strong cost accounting experience or CPA certification required. Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead accounting operations and manage teams. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools. Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Preferred Experience: Exposure to software implementation projects. Experience enhancing reporting and analysis capabilities. Compensation and Benefits: Base salary range 130-150k Bonus target up to 10-15k based on company and individual performance Personal Time Off (PTO) is offered on an accrual basis. PTO hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
