Manager Global Retirement Assets - Treasury
Oversees global retirement plan assets to ensure financial accuracy and compliance, reporting to the Investment Committee. Acts as primary liaison with investment managers and global committees, managing asset transfers and fee payments. Supports pension strategy development and Treasury initiatives aligned with funding and de-risking goals.
What You’ll Do
Manage activities performed by Investment Managers, custodian, recordkeepers, Investment Consultant, and trustees through regular meetings and phone conversations - acting as the main point-of-contact and monitoring activities to ensure performance meets expectations.
Optimize U.S. Pension Trust operations as plans mature, including manager optimizations and reviews, LDI enhancements (cash flow matching), and fee/appointment evaluations.
Report regularly on Investment Managers and certain non-US plans to the Investment Committee (including recommendations of managers on the watch list and potential plan changes to consider).
Prepare and present materials for quarterly U.S. Investment Committee meetings.
Account for assets of the funded employee benefit plans by leading the activities of the master custodian for the pension plan and the master trust for the savings plan (includes managing the accounts from which the various payments are made).
Approve asset transfers required to make benefit payments.
Approve Investment Manager fee payments inside the U.S. for both defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
Act as a liaison with Human Resource Business Process Outsourcing (HR BPO) provider and Total Rewards to ensure accurate cash management of U.S. pension trust benefit payments. Monitor and review monthly reconciliations prepared by HR BPO.
Develop/Analyze reports to help management identify where opportunities exist to move Goodyear's total global pension strategy forward.
Maintain knowledge of the markets, economic factors, and plan sponsor initiatives that impact/improve the investment of assets and the experience of savings plan participants. Make recommendations for changes when appropriate.
Review/Approve Goodyear's daily cash (liquidity) position and operations of the U.S., and Canadian plans. Ensure on-going operational and investment requirements of the organization are met.
Identify/Implement initiatives that improve processes and controls around cash management for the company (including U.S., and Canadian subsidiaries).
Provide systems, applications, and product support to other Cash Management associates and liaison with Information Technology (IT) for configuration, support, and enhancements.
Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned by the Treasury Management team.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
7 or more years of experience working in Accounting or Finance (including 4 years of analytical financial experience and 2 years of experience successfully leading team projects).
What Will Set You Apart
Experience/Knowledge of pension and defined contribution plans - Desired.
Knowledge of financial analytical methods.
Skilled in financial instruments.
Ability to review work of others and determine accuracy before approving payments.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
