The Director of Finance & Operations will serve as a strategic and operational leader, driving financial performance, operational excellence, and cost optimization for Troveo. This role blends advanced financial modelling, cloud infrastructure cost management, and operational leadership with hands-on accounting, AP management, and business partnering. The successful candidate will close the monthly books, manage accounts payable, analyse AWS data storage and volume trends, and work with the leadership team to set cost and performance targets. They will partner closely with the CFO and leadership team to provide meaningful insight into business performance, enabling informed, data-driven decisions. An entrepreneurial, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude is essential. Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering Work with the CFO and all functional leaders to translate operational performance into actionable financial insights. Provide regular, data-driven recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making. Act as a bridge between finance and operational departments to ensure alignment of goals. Build and maintain detailed financial models incorporating AI data storage costs, compute usage, and growth forecasts. Integrate cloud infrastructure cost forecasts into comprehensive budgets and long-range financial plans. Perform scenario analysis for scaling, vendor negotiations, and product pricing strategies. Data Cost & Storage Optimization Analyze data storage and processing trends to identify savings opportunities. Collaborate with engineering to implement efficient data lifecycle management policies (archiving, compression, deletion). Develop KPIs for storage cost, compute utilisation, and data throughput efficiency. Lead the monthly and year-end financial close process with accuracy and timeliness. Oversee accounts payable, ensuring accurate vendor payments, cost controls, and cash flow optimisation. Maintain robust internal controls, accounting standards compliance, and documentation. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities. Budgeting & Forecasting Partner with the CFO and leadership team to develop the annual budget and rolling forecasts. Consolidate operational and financial plans into a single, actionable plan for the business. Provide variance analysis and recommendations for corrective action. Operational Leadership Lead cross-functional cost-efficiency initiatives and process improvements. Ensure infrastructure investments and operational execution align with strategic and financial targets. Monitor and report on company-wide operational KPIs. Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or CA preferred). 8+ years’ progressive experience in finance and operations, ideally within technology, cloud services, or data-driven businesses. Start-up experience is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience in monthly close, AP, budgeting, and forecasting. Proven cost modelling and optimization expertise. Strong understanding of data storage cost structures and efficiency strategies. Experience partnering with engineering and cross-functional teams to set measurable performance targets. Advanced modelling and analytical skills (Excel, SQL, Python or R a plus). Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills. Ability to distill complex technical and financial concepts into actionable business insights. Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Leadership & Culture
