Job Description And Duties Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I, Project Management Office (PMO), the Information Technology Specialist I processes and monitors IT Procurement activities across the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) enterprise. The ITS I is responsible for ensuring that procurements are processed and managed in accordance with the policies of the California Department of Technology (CDT) Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) processes and procedures, DIR's Purchasing Authority Approval, and the Department of General Services (DGS), including as prescribed in the State Administrative Manual (SAM) and State Contracting Manual (SCM). DIR requires a minimum of 2 days in office. DIR does not participate in E-Verify. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, research, drafting policy and procedure documents, and other purposes. Being in a stationary position for long periods of time. Confidentiality must always be maintained. Special Requirements Please include a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) that answers the following questions: Describe your experience with procuring information technology (IT) goods and services. Include specific examples of the types of IT acquisitions you have managed (e.g., hardware, software, cloud services, professional IT services), and explain how you ensured compliance with procurement laws, policies, and procedures. Describe a situation where you identified risks, inefficiencies, or compliance issues in an IT procurement or contract process. What analysis did you conduct, what recommendations did you make, and what was the outcome?
