The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an adult congenital cardiologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice primarily in Morgantown, West Virginia.
The successful candidate will join our growing Division of Pediatric Cardiology and will support our patient population on the Children's Hospital campus and throughout the state through our robust pediatric cardiology outreach program that includes outreach clinics with diagnostic testing.
Duties: The successful candidate will oversee and supervise the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program and practice general Pediatric Cardiology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed specialty residency program, as well as specialty fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board Eligible/certified in General Pediatrics and/or Internal Medicine along with Board eligible/certified in Pediatric Cardiology and/or Adult Cardiology and Board Eligible/certified in Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
WVU Medicine Children's Hospital is a tertiary care center for the state of West Virginia, Western Maryland, Southwestern Pennsylvania, as well as Southeastern Ohio. We have West Virginia's only cardiothoracic surgery program and offer surgical interventions for the full range of congenital heart defects, including complex single ventricle neonates through adults with congenital heart disease.
Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital includes dedicated cardiac operating rooms, a hybrid cardiac EP and interventional catheterization lab, and dedicated pediatric cardiac anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, the only level 4 NICU in the state, a dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department with Rapid Care, 15 PICU beds, and is the mainstay for WVU Medicine Children's Heart Center of Excellence including 8 CICU beds.
