The Global Network Delivery organization is hiring a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The team scopes and plans interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across multiple data center locations. They review project forecasts and ensure physical infrastructure resources are available for execution. The Network Deployment Planner will work closely with infrastructure supply chain and procurement, network engineering, and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to local data center installation and deployment technicians for smooth capacity execution. The ideal candidate will have a technology background that enables understanding the complexities of Amazon data center network architecture. Candidates must be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have experience managing network deployment projects. Competence in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions is required. This position provides high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive stability and sustainability of next-generation networks and to assist in developing innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential. Key job responsibilities

Ensure adherence to timelines. Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Collaborate with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity. Knowledge of network cabling and optic types. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. Familiarity with common networking terms. Excellent judgment and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs; strong prioritization and time management. Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones. Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management. Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure. About the team

The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year to $185,000/year depending on location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
