Overview
Store Manager 01092 role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store; aims to achieve consistent sales growth, maintain the proper O'Reilly image, operate as a profit center, and follow policies and procedures to maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities
Maximize sales by directing team members to provide prompt, courteous, and professional service.
Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company in accordance with company policies.
Maintain customer base and increase sales volume at assigned accounts; assess customer needs to gain market share; solicit stocking-type business as well as daily needs and equipment sales.
Coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager.
Supervise all store team members and work with the District Manager in recruiting, testing, hiring, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and discharging staff under their supervision.
Develop and post work schedules using Scheduling & Timekeeping recommendations based on sales and payroll forecasting.
Review team member timecards for clocking accuracy and correct missed punches daily.
Ensure ongoing skills development through company training on policies and procedures, customer service, computer operations, catalogs, sales, and safety.
Work with Sales and Pricing Departments (with district manager assistance) to establish pricing levels for professional customers.
Maximize gross profit on outside purchases.
Monitor non-competitive price overrides and price matches to ensure policy compliance and profitability, and prevent discounting abuse.
Ensure the store is organized and operating according to all company policies and procedures.
Communicate new information from the company to all team members as necessary.
Implement all planogram changes and merchandising plans as outlined.
Provide the Inventory Control Department with accurate and timely stock adjustment recaps.
Handle daily store accounting functions to ensure efficiency (sales reports, bank deposits, cash drawers, processing checks, etc.).
Monitor charge accounts and address past-due situations; communicate with the Territory Sales Manager and credit department on status of problem accounts.
Monitor susceptible areas and implement loss prevention procedures (billing, refunds, credits, stock transfers, core and warranty procedures, key control/safe codes, and shoplifting prevention).
Ensure store vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and inspected regularly.
Report property/building needs using the Maintenance and Repair System or to the District Manager.
Attend the Annual Managers' Conference.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, Manager Development Program module
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Well organized with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time efficiently
Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems
Desired
Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE certification
