Responsibilities
Manage and lead in a multiunit capacity, with the ability to multitask and direct a larger team across two store locations.
Provide and model best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist guests with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, and promote selling behaviors during every transaction.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS system, including correct change, receipts, and ensuring high-quality guest service.
Respond to guest questions in person or on the phone; handle calls promptly and professionally.
Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs.
Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates.
Ensure associates complete onboarding, job training, and compliance training prior to opening/closing shifts; educate on policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.
Communicate with store associates and District Manager to implement store initiatives; train associates on policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Schedule store associates to meet staffing guidelines and ensure optimal guest service; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers.
Approve payroll, manage time off requests, and verify time worked.
Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system as required.
Maintain neat, clean, organized stores and ensure merchandise is merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and manage daily shipments.
Perform store inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.
Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; conduct safety checks and report injuries per guidelines.
Lead the store team to meet sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative duties.
Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required.
Verify shipments for discrepancies and conduct inventory counts; communicate discrepancies to the District Manager.
Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately; label boxes with packing lists.
Maintain associate and guest safety; address hazardous situations promptly.
Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date.
Form professional partnerships with appropriate military personnel on assigned bases where applicable.
Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures as outlined in the Associate Handbook and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.
At least 1 year of retail management experience required.
At least 3 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management/leadership experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.
Key Skills and Abilities
Outgoing and welcoming personality with strong people skills.
Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest.
Clear verbal and written communication in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a team leader; manage tasks efficiently.
Meet leadership performance expectations including attendance, appearance, safety, and respectful workplace.
Operate POS system; basic math and alphabetizing skills.
Complete required paperwork and follow instructions accurately.
Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and lead teams to achieve objectives.
Ability to work 40 hours per week with flexibility for extended hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Maintain reliability, good judgment, and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
Ability to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs as part of normal duties.
Compensation $16.00 - $24.00
