Manage and lead in a multiunit capacity. Provide and model best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns quickly and courteously, assist guests with video gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend items, and circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, visual/operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns using the POS system accurately and with top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in, Pro Rewards). Recruit, interview, hire, assess, develop, and retain high-performing associates; ensure onboarding and training are completed prior to opening/closing shifts. Communicate with store associates and the District Manager to implement initiatives; supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates, Retail Keyholders, and Assistant Store Managers. Schedule associates to follow guidelines; manage staffing for optimal guest service; supervise breaks and meals as required. Approve payroll, manage time off, and ensure accurate compensation. Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in the HR system. Maintain a neat, clean, organized store; ensure merchandise is displayed per guidelines and equipment is in working order. Fulfll Omni-Channel orders daily; conduct store/inventory counts and restock as needed. Protect company assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at store closing as appropriate. Lead the store team toward sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete administrative duties for goal achievement. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transactions; manage cash and bank deposits per guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; conduct inventories and communicate issues to the District Manager. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain safety for associates and guests; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records and ensure manuals are up to date. Form professional partnerships as applicable (military base locations). Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business/marketing/merchandising preferred. At least 1 year of retail management experience required. At least 3 years of retail sales/guest service/management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine, individualized guest assistance. Clear communication (verbal and written); English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work independently and as a team lead; meet leadership expectations. Operate POS system; basic math and organization skills. Complete required paperwork; follow instructions; adhere to company policy. Lead in a fast-paced environment; manage 40 hours/week with occasional overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays. Stay reliable, trustworthy, and adaptable under pressure; able to work alone and stand/move for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs and reach heights as needed.
