Overview

Project Director - Land Development at LJA. The Project Director of Engineering manages and directs department project managers within the Land Development Division. The priorities for this position include strategic planning, product design, quality assurance and problem resolution. A Director of Engineering must execute product design to meet company objectives, collaborate with management and assist in the development of systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards. A Typical Day Might Include

Building relationships and growing business in Land Development sector. Assist in the development of business by marketing to existing clients and identifying and marketing to new clients. Meeting with cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposes. Support technical efforts for business development such as preparation of responses to RFPs and SOQs, preparation for presentations, and interfacing/coordinating the efforts of the office. Leading and managing the design of public works projects. Developing scope, budget, and schedule. Managing design team\'s performance on assigned projects. Assisting in the development of intermediate and long-range plans for systems operation, maintenance, and expansion to ensure adequate services to customers. Reviewing and recommending payment for damage claims against the company to ensure company position is consistent and legally defensible. Reviewing major work orders. Approving and justifying construction budgets and operations budgets. Preparing reports for and advising the President and Boards on a regular basis regarding activities of the department. Required Education / Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree Required Qualifications

P.E. License 8+ years managerial experience 8+ years of experience in Land Development engineering Proficiency in appropriate software for the market Excellent attention to detail and impeccable work ethic Excellent written and verbal communication skills What LJA Offers
