Overview Director - Land Development at LJA. This role reports to the Land Development leadership and is responsible for managing and directing department staff and projects within the Land Development Division. Key priorities include strategic planning, project design, quality assurance, problem resolution, business development, and client management. The Director will execute project design and management to meet company objectives and assist in developing systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

Build relationships and grow business in the Land Development sector.

Meet with existing and potential clients in the development community for business development purposes.

Represent LJA at events, seminars, and workshops outside of normal business hours.

Support land development entitlement activities, strategize, solve problems, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.

Lead and manage the execution of land development projects.

Develop project scope, budget, and schedule.

Manage the performance of the design team on assigned projects.

Assist in developing intermediate and long-range plans for systems operation, maintenance, and expansion to ensure adequate services to customers.

Review and recommend payments for damage claims to ensure the company position is consistent and legally defensible.

Review major work orders and approve/justify construction and operations budgets.

Participate in strategic planning and annual financial budgeting.

Contribute to building the culture of the local Land Development practice.

Prepare reports and advise senior management on department activities on a regular basis.

Required Education/Licensing

Bachelor’s Degree Required

Required Qualifications

P.E. License

5+ years of managerial experience

15+ years of experience in Land Development engineering

Proficiency in software appropriate to the market

Excellent attention to detail and impeccable work ethic

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
