The Director of Campus Operations provides leadership, direction, and guidance for Campus Operations Managers. Coordinates with the Director of Facilities Infrastructure and Director of Facilities Planning on deferred maintenance projects. Performs coordination and oversight of complex and multi-campus facilities, including maintenance, repairs, renovations, and operations pertaining to physical facilities for the college. Provides support to our Campus Operations Managers on projects with both in-house and contracted resources, providing planning, scheduling, coordinating, and budgeting. Contributes to facilities organizational leadership regarding aspects of unit structure, methods, and finance. Represents college facilities in purchasing selection as well as interactions with outside organizations. Participates in the development of the deferred maintenance budget planning, forecasting, and scheduling. Develops and manages the department’s operating budget. Oversees Transportation and Warehouse services. The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel. This job may have On-call rotation duties. Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and oversees the Operations department, having District-wide responsibilities including construction, maintenance, repairs, and operations. Utilizes project management skills including project planning, project budget development, project scheduling Contributes to the overall leadership of the facilities organization, focusing on unit structure, operational methods, and financial planning and the department financial and operating goals and budget Responsible for managing operation units. Responds to facilities emergencies and deploys appropriate resources and resolves facilities operational problems Drives continuous improvement initiatives within the department to enhance efficiency and effectiveness Prioritizes and assigns work for other supervisors and managers of the Operations Department; supervises employees, conducts performance evaluations; ensures staff are trained; makes hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations Management oversight of service contracts and blanket purchase order agreements with vendors and contractors. Builds effective relationships with contractors, vendors, and outside agencies that affect the College and the Operations department Develops and implements budgets, planning, analyzing, and evaluating facilities planning, construction, and operational needs Works with the Facility Asset Management Information System (FAMIS) and ERP software to plan and organize work, track staff work hours, and document resource expenditure Examines construction documents to review proposed improvements and accept work performed. Develops, reviews, and maintains college standards with input from Facilities and Maintenance Participates in administrative and long-range planning meetings and other related functions to support the Operations Department and the College Ensures that Campus Managers complete work orders in a timely manner and addresses service request backlogs; resolves customer complaints Administers and implements operational and programmatic goals, board policies, procedures, guidelines, and services Establishes, monitors, evaluates, and improves processes, ensuring alignment with the College mission, values, goals, objectives, and initiatives Advises and/or collaborates with multiple college departments and regulatory agencies Represents the Campus Operations Department at various meetings and other forums in support of the College Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in related field Three to five years of related experience Three years of supervisory experience or An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job Preferred

Knowledge of regulatory compliance principles and practices Knowledge of business management and fiscal practices Knowledge and application of organizational and time management principles Knowledge in project management principles, processes, and techniques Knowledge of skilled trades required to complete responsibilities Skill in effective communication (written and verbal) Skill in people leadership and supervision Skill in explaining technical concepts to varied audiences Skill in analyzing data and drawing conclusions Skill in independent decision making Skill in budget and resource management Skills in organization, coordination, and management Ability to adapt and maintain composure in emergent and crisis situations Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships Ability to operate relevant equipment and travel as needed Physical Requirements
Environment: Work is performed in a non-traditional environment with staff contact and frequent interruptions. Physical: ability to remain stationary for periods, traverse uneven surfaces and stairs, lift and move objects, operate a computer, and travel as needed. May be exposed to hazards such as heat, cold, infectious disease, moving vehicles, chemicals, or high places. Ability to wear a respirator.
