Merchandise Planning & Allocation
Manager
will play a critical role in driving Wolford’s U.S. retail and e-commerce business by leading merchandise planning, allocation strategies, and inventory optimization. This individual will be both highly analytical and proactive, taking ownership of initiatives and demonstrating leadership as a self-starter who anticipates business needs. This role is pivotal in shaping how clients experience the Wolford brand by ensuring the right product is available in the right place, at the right time, supporting both profitable growth and an elevated client experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage financial and unit sales plans across retail, e-commerce, and outlet channels. Analyse historical performance, market trends, and customer insights to forecast demand and inform seasonal assortment planning. Partner with Buying to build SKU productivity and depth strategies aligned with brand objectives. Allocation & Inventory Management Create and oversee allocation strategies to ensure optimal product distribution across boutiques, outlets, and online. Monitor inventory levels, replenishment cycles, and sell-through performance, making adjustments to maximize profitability. Collaborate with Logistics and Supply Chain to manage flow of goods and ensure timely product availability. Business Analysis & Reporting Provide actionable business insights through sales, margin, and inventory reporting. Track KPIs, including sell-through, stock turn, and profitability by channel and store. Present recommendations to senior leadership to influence strategy and decision-making. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Thought Leadership Act as a thought leader, mentoring cross-functional partners and providing strategic guidance to influence key decisions. Partner with Retail and Store Operations to align inventory with client demand and local market opportunities. Collaborate with Marketing to support promotional strategies with appropriate inventory planning. Work closely with Finance to manage OTB (Open-to-Buy) and budget targets. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Finance, or related field; MBA a plus. 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, allocation, or inventory management, preferably in luxury fashion or specialty retail. Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel Proven ability to interpret sales data and translate into actionable strategies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proactive leader with strong initiative and the ability to act as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates strategic mindset, storytelling with data, and the ability to adapt with agility in a fast-changing retail environment.
