Overview
A rapidly growing general contractor, specializing in Federal construction, in the Chicagoland area seeks a Traveling Quality Control Manager to ensure top-tier quality standards on construction projects nationwide. This role is critical in maintaining excellence across diverse, high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment, requiring frequent travel.
Base pay range $115,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
Additional compensation types Annual Bonus
Responsibilities
Oversee quality control processes across construction sites, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulations.
Conduct inspections, audits, and testing to identify and address quality issues promptly.
Develop and implement quality management plans, including documentation, reporting, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align quality standards with project timelines and budgets.
Travel extensively to project sites across the U.S., managing on-site quality assurance and providing team training as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
CQM-C (Construction Quality Management for Contractors) certification required.
Proven experience working with federal agencies such as USACE, VA, GSA, NAVFAC, DoD, or similar entities.
Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, safety protocols, and risk management.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Willingness to travel.
