General Superintendent – Transit & Infrastructure Projects (NYC)

We’re hiring a General Superintendent to oversee all on-site construction activities for a multi-year, large-scale public transit project at the Midtown Port Authority Bus Terminal.
About the Role
You’ll supervise subcontractors, site supervisors, and trade crews, ensuring construction progresses according to schedule and plans. You’ll coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and local authorities, while enforcing safety protocols and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all on-site construction activities and field operations Direct subcontractors, site supervisors, and trade crews Review drawings/specs and identify constructability issues Conduct daily inspections, toolbox talks, and enforce OSHA compliance Manage punch lists, quality inspections, and corrective actions Monitor schedules and coordinate logistics, deliveries, and materials Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and photo documentation Coordinate utility relocations and underground infrastructure Ensure traffic/pedestrian safety and environmental compliance Support integration of specialized transit systems (e.g., fare systems, bus bays) Qualifications
10+ years of construction supervision experience (transit/infrastructure preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred) OSHA 30 certification required Strong understanding of civil, structural, MEP, and architectural systems Experience managing projects over $100M Familiarity with MS Office, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera PMP or CM-Lean certification is a plus Excellent communication and leadership skills Work Environment & Benefits
