Business Development Coordinator - (Hybrid Schedule)

This role is with Reed Smith LLP, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the LGBTQ+ business community. This position supports the global Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) marketing and business development team. Position Summary

The Business Development Coordinator supports the ENR BD team. The ENR practice is multidisciplinary, combining regulatory, transactional, financial, environmental health and safety, projects and construction, and litigation disciplines with a focus on clients operating in energy & natural resources, and related sectors. The BD Coordinator handles marketing administrative tasks, assists with pitches and proposals, firm awards submissions (e.g., Chambers and Legal 500), and various external and internal communications. They coordinate with other marketing teams to support internal and external events, sponsorships, webinars, thought leadership, and competitive intelligence. The BD Coordinator will work on ENR BD team projects and broader firmwide marketing initiatives, with autonomy and collaboration with attorneys. Responsibilities

Collect and maintain attorney experience and client information in firmwide experience databases and the CRM system. Create strong first drafts of pitches in response to RFPs and liaise with attorneys to finalize pitches and proposals. Manage and maintain internal marketing materials, including monthly newsletters, mailing lists, internal blogs, and capabilities documents. Assist attorneys in preparing materials and presentations for internal meetings, client development opportunities, and external speaking engagements. Work with the ENR group and related practice teams to prepare and edit drafts of industry surveys and directory submissions, and maintain repositories of practice group accolades and awards. Collaborate with ENR attorneys and the BD team on credentialing activities, client alerts, blog posts, and content for the ENR LinkedIn Showcase page; support speaking engagements. Coordinate Reed Smith's participation in and sponsorship of local and national conferences, including preparing advertisements, logos, check requests, and other sponsorship materials. Coordinate Reed Smith-hosted client seminars and events, including invitations, venue logistics, speaker coordination, event materials, and day-of needs. Assist with development of group and strategy meeting agendas, presentations, and meeting summaries. Help maintain industry group and specialty intranet sites. Other duties as assigned. Education:

College degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field required. Experience:

One to three years in a professional services marketing role is desirable but not required. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skills, strong writing ability, a positive attitude, and a hardworking, collaborative mindset. Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams. Skills

Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Technologically savvy and able to learn new database systems quickly. Highly detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects with competing priorities under tight deadlines. Professional judgment, poise, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish effective firmwide working relationships at all levels. Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills; orientation to delivering high-quality service. Ability to work independently as well as in a team; flexible in approach. Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail and accuracy. Adaptability to changing priorities and environments. Travel as required; office presence as required. Other

Ability to hear and understand verbal communication for effective collaboration. Must be able to travel for meetings and training as required. Must work in office as required. Working Conditions

You will be required to work in the office at minimum 3 days per week. The weekly schedule will be discussed with your direct supervisor. Occasional overtime may be required. Pay Ranges

This is a non-exempt role. The hourly wage ranges are:

$31.00 to $35.50 in Houston (annualized $64,000 to $74,000)

and

$33.00 to $37.50 in Chicago (annualized $68,000 to $78,000) , based on hours. Employee Benefits Overview
