Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing planning, design, and construction administrative and management support on multiple infrastructure, medical/mental health, energy and sustainability, special repair, and both minor and major capital outlay correctional projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction and management of correctional project teams and ensure on-schedule completions within or below budgets in accordance with contractual obligations and adherence to design standards and criteria. Oversee, coordinate, and manage all consultant design activities from inception to completion, ensuring all project deliverables are delivered on time and meet owner requirements, standards, and guidelines. Establish Project Management Plan and program requirements for all areas of the project; monitor draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria. Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in the plan. Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project. Act as primary contact and liaison for owner and principal partner entities for the contract, design, systems, procedures and related deliverables. Develop project-specific procedures and documentation; consult with the Owner on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project. Ensure contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with project codes, standards, and requirements. Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements among owner, architects, engineers, and other entities. Represent owner, project and related parties in public forums and meetings. Manage project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, systems and project closeout. Lead in project meetings, including documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses. Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities. Manage bid and award phase services, as required by the client. Work with other team members to follow budget, schedules, and plan for all elements of a project. Work with management to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Maintain and/or review current and timely change orders. Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones and any conditions affecting cost or schedule. Conduct periodic site visits to verify project progress. Oversee project closeout process as required. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or equivalent is required. 12+ years of project/construction management experience. 5 years of experience managing large programs with projects having construction values in excess of $50 million (not cumulative). 5 years of experience in correctional facility construction, large multi-building campuses, infrastructure public works or large commercial projects. Design-Build or Progressive Design-Build experience preferred. A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists preferred. LEED-certified projects experience preferred. Knowledge of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, and engineering/construction principles, materials, and practices. Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Document Management Systems and Adobe Acrobat Professional, Bluebeam, Procore and other project management software systems. Proven ability to perform in a management capacity. Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The salary range for this position is

$145,000.00-$161,000.00 .
