American International Contractors (Special Projects), Inc. (AICI-SP) is seeking a Project Manager to work on upcoming secure projects OCONUS. An ACTIVE U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required for this position. AICI-SP has established itself as one of the leading construction firms in the Department of State, Overseas Building Operations (OBO) program. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success, safety, and timely completion of a Design/Build project, and the performance, morale, and welfare of his/her employees. This person will plan and manage project design, construction, commissioning, and close-out activities and schedules and provide technical consultations to project teams, government agencies, and clients. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Creates and executes project-specific work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client Effectively applies the company’s processes and procedures, and enforces the project contract and standards Prepares and reviews quality assurance procedures Manages and minimizes AICI-SP’s exposure and risk on the project Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately Manages project budget. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for the project profit/loss. Facilitates “internal” team (site, head, and regional offices), and “external”; (client and other stakeholders) effective communication and meetings Effectively and timely communicates project information to superiors Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion Developing lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties Works in coordination with the home office to ensure all required materials and engineering services are delivered on-site in a timely fashion Other duties as directed by the Operations Manager and the President Knowledge, Experience And Special Skills Required Must be a U.S. Citizen, which is a requirement for the U.S. Secret security clearance and for the US State Department project contract. Must have a U.S. Secret security clearance Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Science / Technology or Construction Management 10-15 years of construction/project management experience; minimum of 8 years of professional employment managing large vertical design/build projects overseas. Experience as Project Manager on US State Department (OBO) embassy design or USACE construction project valued at $50 Million or higher Primary experience working as the General Contractor on large construction buildings with high-end finishes Experience in all aspects of design/build contract execution Experience of secured and high-end building design and construction, firm fixed price contracts Knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and construction management, monitoring and control techniques Experience working as the General Contractor on an overseas classified project from start to completion Full knowledge and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) FEBR experience, TSS, and Special Construction Experience Must be able to successfully create and manage a multi-cultural project team and create a positive and strong work environment, as well as positively integrate with the local community when needed. Possess strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills Must be willing to work overseas International construction industry experiences interacting with various diverse cultures Experience in contract management and construction risk management are required Physical, Mental And Environmental Demands The demands described here are not exhaustive but are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
