Description
Position Summary: The Grant Writer & Compliance Director is responsible for researching and securing grant funding, writing compelling proposals, and ensuring full compliance with all awarded grants and contracts. This position manages the entire grant lifecycle, from prospecting and proposal development to reporting and claims, while safeguarding the organization through accurate data entry, compliance monitoring, and risk management. The role also supports capital campaign proposals and donor reporting, helping the organization sustain and expand its impact across Portage County. Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, journalism, public administration, or related field. 3+ years of experience in grant writing, compliance, or contract management. Preferred experience with federal/state contracts and nonprofit compliance practices. Skills & Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor proposals and reports to funders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with donor or grant management software preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, board members, funders, and community partners. Knowledge of youth development and community needs in Portage County. Demonstrated project management and cross-department collaboration skills. Primary Responsibilities
Grant Writing & Development Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational needs. Write persuasive grant proposals, renewal requests, and reports. Assemble all grant application materials for submission. Collaborate with Operations staff to gather data, outcomes, and program stories for funders. Develop and maintain strong relationships with funders to ensure ongoing support and partnership. Collaborate with operations and finance teams to align funding proposals and grant applications with the Club’s strategic priorities and program needs. Grant & Contract Compliance Ensure compliance with contract requirements, allowable expenses, and reporting regulations. Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant financial claims and reports. Maintain complete grant/contract files for audits and accountability. Work with Finance/Administration to reconcile expenditures and track grant budgets. Pull and generate reports, numbers, and data from MCH (Salesforce-based data management system) as necessary.
