POSITION TITLE: Associate Director – Advocacy Team DEPARTMENT: Advocacy
REPORTS TO: Director - Community Systems
CLASSIFICATION: Regular, Full-time

Position Summary
The Associate Director of Advocacy co-manages the day-to-day operation of the Cleveland Rape Crisis Centers. To ensure all survivors and co-survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking in CRCC’s service area have immediate access to trauma-informed support, education, crisis stabilization, and follow-up services. This position leads a team providing survivor support.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise members of the Advocacy team and team leaders as needed, assure that program and staff achieve set goals, provide professional development to build resilience and prevent burnout
Create and facilitate strong relationships with outside community organizations, network, and hold responsibility for relationship management
Complete data collection, data entry, and required reports and other related administrative paperwork in accordance with program timelines and standards
Serve as an active member on coalitions and multidisciplinary teams such as law enforcement and assistant prosecutors
Educate medical, law enforcement, and social services professionals about best practices in working with survivors, act as an educational resource, and provide support to mental/physical health personnel and the Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, and Ashtabula communities
Interview, hire, orient, and train new staff
Conduct yearly performance evaluations of direct reports
Review, edit, and sign off of supervisees’ documentation within the timeframe established by CRCC
Participate as the agency liaison to community collaborations
Planning and scheduling staff training; schedule a monthly meeting with the Director of Community and System
Responsible for hiring, training, supervision and performance management of Team Leader staff
Responsible for leading staff professional development efforts through training, supervision, and quality assurance
Establish and monitor performance objectives, provide administrative supervision in accordance with CRCC policies and procedures; complete timely performance evaluations; assist in recruitment, hiring, and development of the team
Identify and promptly respond to staff debrief needs to mitigate the impact of vicarious trauma
Ensure that programs and staff achieve set goals
Hold staff accountable for adhering to CRCC’s policies and procedures
Co-facilitate regular monthly team meetings with department Associate Directors and Team Leaders
Ensure coverage
Increase client access to services through the coordination of transportation or language access, if needed
Engage in routine quality assurance reviews of services provided
Monitor documentation to ensure integrity in service delivery
Support the Director of Community and System in data analysis and program development
Quality improvement activities
Assign cases to staff, ensuring equity amongst the team
Network closely with other agency staff for the purpose of coordination of care and developing efficient procedures for getting new clients into services
Maintain and analyze statistics for grant reporting and program efficiency
Assist Director-Community Systems with SART for the 4 counties: Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Ashtabula
Assist with duties related to being a staff member at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, such as assisting with events and other duties as assigned by the Director of Advocacy and Systems and the Chief Program Officer
Coordinate with technical assistance and CRCC’s Director of Program Initiatives to achieve set project deliverables as assigned. Examples of programs include: Saki, Later in Life, and Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention
Build and foster open and positive relationships as well as ongoing trainings with the Child Advocacy Center teams, law enforcement, prosecutors, probation/parole, victim advocates, and other SART members and professionals while promoting best practices for sexual violence investigations
Organize and coordinate multidisciplinary team case reviews

Bachelor's degree in criminology, psychology, public health administration, or social services
3 years of experience in a related field (e.g. advocacy, mental health, crisis intervention)
2 years of supervisory experience
Previous experience in the operation of a 24/7 program preferred
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
May consider an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training to meet the essential functions of the position

Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, sexual violence, mental health, and substance use
Demonstrated knowledge of cultural diversity and working with a wide variety of populations
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and simultaneous requests for services

Must be able to work collaboratively with community members and staff, communicate effectively, organize complex ideas, be action-oriented, and demonstrate a strong commitment to provide expert-level care to individuals seeking services
Demonstrated ability to schedule a 24/7 operation including design of shifts
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to use electronic database(s) (e.g. Apricot) and videoconferencing tools (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams)
Ability to operate software programs related to crisis text and chat line
Ability to use third party scheduling software for transportation and software for interpreters
