Project Manager/Senior Project Manager – Electrical Construction

Overview
This role requires a highly technical project leader with extensive experience in electrical commercial and mixed-use construction. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing complex electrical projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. Success in this position requires both deep electrical knowledge and proven leadership in managing teams, resources, and client relationships.
Must have experience as an Electrical Project Manager on large-scale, mission-critical technical builds.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop strong project teams, ensuring quality output, adherence to scope, and customer satisfaction.
Drive profitability by executing projects efficiently and aligning with contractual, scheduling, and financial requirements.
Establish and manage project goals for technical execution, scheduling, procurement, contracts, and capacity planning.
Continuously improve processes and systems to meet evolving project and client needs.
Mentor, coach, and oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, building a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
Review project contracts and determine appropriate methodologies for design and construction execution.
Ensure project schedules are met, adjusting priorities and resources as customer requirements change.
Act as the primary client contact throughout project lifecycle, maintaining clear communication of expectations, risks, and progress.
Provide oversight for subcontractors and third-party firms.
Lead project reviews with emphasis on financial forecasting, risk mitigation, and long-term profitability.
Oversee invoicing, manage cost controls, and negotiate change orders.
Ensure all engineering deliverables, studies, and technical work are completed at the highest standard of quality.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within electrical commercial or mixed-use construction.
Strong technical understanding of electrical engineering and electric power systems.
Field experience coordinating directly with construction managers and trade partners.
In-depth knowledge of scheduling, estimating, bids, take-offs, contracts, and change orders.
Proven ability to build client relationships and contribute to business development efforts.
Track record of delivering profitable project portfolios.
Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management strongly preferred.
Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license is a plus.
