Hybrid remote / onsite in Washington, DC 20036 Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outsourced IT services for small to medium businesses (10 to 100 nodes), including first tier help desk support to network administration. Maintain the network infrastructure including routine maintenance of servers, installing critical updates and patches, reviewing and testing backups, and monitoring the general health of the network. Review clients’ business needs and work-flow processes to provide project recommendations on how technology may enhance their job functions or increase productivity; propose, manage, and implement projects, upgrades, and migrations. Regular recurring visits to SMBs, addressing helpdesk needs, maintaining backup solutions, and advising on improving the client’s IT environment. Recommend, manage, and implement IT projects such as network infrastructure design, server and cloud-based service migrations, and firewall installations. Manage and resolve disaster recovery situations such as down servers. Technical writing including network audits, IT policy development, and disaster recovery / business continuity planning. Build and maintain client relationships; Office 365 / Google Workspace management & setup; Microsoft Azure configuration. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent work experience. 10-15 years of experience working with IT Service Request systems as a technical support specialist. Ability to install, configure and provide technical support for MS Windows Server and Exchange in a Windows Active Directory environment. Ability to administer Office 365 / Google Workspace services; support and troubleshoot end user desktop operating systems. Configuration and management of firewall appliances (Cisco, FortiGate, WatchGuard). Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Excellent documentation and technical writing skills; ability to create procedures and knowledge base materials. Exceptional customer service, professional communication skills, and a proactive, detail- and results-driven mindset. Willingness to travel to customer sites in the Washington DC metro area. Additional/Bonus skills: Office 365 SharePoint administration; VMWare and/or Hyper-V design and support; network security auditing; Mac OS X desktop support; simple web design; Access/SQL administration; telephony; relevant certifications.
