Litigation Associate, Personal Injury to Asbestos Our client seeks a Litigation Associate to work on mesothelioma (asbestos) litigation. The role involves training in mesothelioma litigation and progressing to case management, with initial in-office presence in Tampa, FL and a hybrid schedule after training.

Responsibilities

Conduct written discovery, depositions, and motion drafting and advocacy.

Participate in trial as second chair; provide support in trial preparation and proceedings.

Manage cases for plaintiffs harmed by corporate misconduct, with a focus on mesothelioma/asbestos-related claims.

Engage with clients and families with empathy; maintain client relations and communicate case status.

Collaborate with partners and other teams to support complex litigation involving multiple defendants.

Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to the Florida bar.

1+ year of personal injury litigation is encouraged; specific medical-related litigation or plaintiff PI experience is favorable.

Ability to travel; travel is described as approximately 8 trips per month with some local day trips and potential national travel.

Strong legal research and writing skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; ability to meet tight deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary target: $120,000–$160,000, with flexibility to go higher for the right candidate based on seniority and experience. Salary is commensurate with experience, with a bonus based on performance and cases closed. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance (premiums paid for individual and family), life insurance, Health Savings Account, 401(k) with 3%+ employer contribution, 20 days of PTO, holidays, paid parking, and more.

Travel & Work Environment Travel related to depositions, trials, meetings with teams, and client visits. Expected travel is primarily 1–2 night trips, with occasional longer trips and national travel as needed.
