Vice President Finance & HR

Acara Solutions is seeking a Vice President of Accounting & Human Resources with a distributor in Amherst, NY. As the VP of Accounting & HR, you will be responsible for leading and managing all accounting and HR functions within the organization. This includes overseeing the monthly financial close process, managing accounts receivable, credit, and accounts payable operations, and ensuring strong internal controls and efficient transactional processes. On the HR side, the role encompasses payroll administration, benefits coordination, compliance with federal and state regulations, employee relations, and performance management. This position requires a strategic and hands-on leader with a proven ability to manage multiple functions through process-driven leadership, fostering efficiency and continuous improvement across teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage accounts receivable and payable teams, emphasizing business development, risk mitigation, cash flow optimization, and internal controls. Oversee a structured and efficient financial month-end close process. Collaborate with executive, sales, and operations leadership to drive a cohesive, customer-focused, cross-functional organization. Manage all HR operations, including payroll, benefits administration, compliance, employee relations, and performance management. Cultivate strong relationships with customers, suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders. Align financial and operational initiatives with broader business objectives through close collaboration with sales, finance, and executive teams. Leverage data and analytics to support informed decision-making and foster continuous improvement. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team. Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a dynamic, fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
