As the

Staff Accountant

at Advantage SCI, you’ll support the finance and accounting department in all functions. The Staff Accountant is a crucial member of the finance department, responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations; works with the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and often assist with tax preparation and audits; helps the business track its financial health and make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : General Ledger Management:

Maintaining and updating the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Financial Reporting:

Preparing and analyzing financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Account Reconciliation:

Reconciling bank statements, credit card statements, vendor statements, benefit statements and other accounts to ensure accuracy. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

Managing accounts payable (paying bills) and accounts receivable (collecting payments). Tax Compliance:

Ensuring the organization complies with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Payroll Processing:

Processing employee payroll, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws. Auditing and Internal Controls:

Assisting with internal audits and implementing internal controls to prevent fraud and errors. Financial Analysis:

Analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to management. Assisting with Budgeting and Forecasting:

Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process by providing relevant financial information. Communication and Collaboration:

Effectively communicating with other team members, management, and external parties (e.g., auditors, vendors, customers). Must be a U.S. Citizen Associate’s Degree or equivalent Expert knowledge of Defense and Federal contracting processes and terminology. Must have a minimum of five (5) years cumulative business and program management experience in government contracting activities. Must have functional computer literacy and be proficient in common computer and network applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose solutions. Attention to Detail required for accuracy in all financial tasks. Effective written and verbal communication skills to explain financial information to various stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Working Conditions Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis Able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally Able to walk long distances without assistance Receive tips & info on cleared job search, security clearances and career development.
