A leading full-service legal firm is seeking a Litigation Associate for its Los Angeles, California office to manage a dynamic caseload from pleadings to trial. Responsibilities include handling discovery, conducting depositions, attending hearings, preparing and arguing motions, and supporting trial strategy. The firm is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented attorney with 3–7 years of civil and commercial litigation experience who thrives in a collaborative, mentorship-focused environment and is eager to grow toward a partner-track role.
Litigation Associate Responsibilities
Manage cases from initial pleadings through trial preparation
Draft and respond to discovery requests
Conduct depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
Attend court hearings and status conferences
Prepare and argue motions and oppositions
Support trial preparation and strategy discussions
Collaborate with partners and other attorneys on complex matters
Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation
Litigation Associate Requirements
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
Licensed to practice law in California
3-5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation (open to 5-7 years)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Word
Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet billable requirements
Collaborative and professional work style
