The Controller/Senior Director of Corporate Accounting Services is a strategic leader responsible for directing the organization’s accounting operations, reporting, and compliance functions. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supports executive decision-making, and aligns accounting practices with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. This role leads multiple departments that manage general ledger management, accounts receivable and payable, financial close processes, the preparation of financial reports and tax statements, and analyzing and reporting on the financial performance of SRP and its operating entities. What You’ll Do

Provides strategic leadership and direction for division\'s activities, policies, objectives and initiatives in alignment with SRP’s mission and corporate goals. Establishes and implements standards and guidelines that drive operational excellence and financial integrity across the organization. Oversees all corporate accounting functions including general ledger, A/P, A/R, financial reporting, payroll, fixed asset accounting, joint ownership accounting, tax strategies and filings, and various ad hoc accounting projects. Leads the development and implementation of accounting strategies that ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards. Directs the preparation of financial statements and tax reports, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Prepares and presents financial and audit results, and various accounting-related ad hoc projects, to executive leadership and SRP Board and Council. Translates complex transactions and business requirements into appropriate accounting treatment, ensuring effective risk management and adequate controls. Communicates financial insights and strategic recommendations to a diverse stakeholder group, including executive leadership. Implements and maintains strong internal controls to safeguard assets. Leads a variety of complicated tasks with the ability to adapt and excel in a constantly evolving environment. Provides strong leadership in formulating and implementing business strategies to ensure regulatory compliance and high levels of customer satisfaction. Plays a key role in the selection, design, implementation, adaptation, and maintenance of accounting systems to enhance reporting and operational efficiency. Utilizes exemplary business judgment, problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills to create corporate wide solutions to complex and vague situations. Builds and leads a high-performing team capable of meeting current and future departmental goals. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and customer-centric service delivery. What It Takes To Succeed

Deep expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive organization change. Experience

Minimum 15 years of relevant experience required. Six or more years of accounting management experience is preferred. Minimum 2 years of public accounting experience is preferred. Experience with financial risk assessments and internal and external audits. Proficiency in MS Office Suite including advanced Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of utility accounting is preferred. Proven track record of building collaborative teams and fostering a high-performance culture. Education

Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field is preferred. Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona. Drug/Alcohol Policy Statement
