A fast growing and entrepreneurial
real estate development and construction firm
is seeking a
hands-on Controller
to lead their financial operations. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys
rolling up their sleeves , implementing systems and controls, and bringing structure and accuracy to a growing business. You’ll lead a small team, collaborate closely with project leaders and ownership, and play a vital role in financial communication with
external investors . Responsibilities include: Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing Month-end close reconciliations and journal entries Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to investors and ownership Manage and mentor a team of 3 Establish and improve internal controls, policies, and financial processes to support scalability Oversee job costing and collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy and transparency on project financials Manage cash flow forecasting, budget vs. actuals, and project-level reporting Work directly with external CPAs on tax planning, compliance, and audit preparation Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7 years of progressive accounting experience Experience managing and developing small teams Experience with job costing and WIP schedules Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, entrepreneurial environment The company offers a base pay range of $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr, plus annual bonus and other benefits.
