We’ve partnered with a PE-backed company seeking a hands-on Senior Controller to join their small-office environment. This role reports directly to the CEO, manages a team of four, and is positioned as the successor to the CFO — an incredible career path for the right candidate. Base pay range : $160,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr Additional compensation types : Annual Bonus What We’re Looking For
Seasoned Controller
with hands-on accounting and leadership experience. Strong background in
manufacturing, distribution, or retail
with inventory and costing. CPA
(active or inactive) and prior public accounting experience preferred. Middle-market company experience ($30M–$75M revenue). Proven ability to navigate audits, bank debt covenants, and leveraged balance sheets. Advanced
Excel/data analytics
skills. Strong communicator, optimistic, collaborative, and solutions-driven. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (MBA preferred). CPA strongly preferred (inactive or in process considered). Demonstrated success improving close processes, enhancing controls, and increasing accuracy in financial reporting. Leadership experience with a track record of execution and team development. Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of accounting operations, including AP/AR, month-end close, reconciliations, JE’s, and financial statement preparation. Oversee full inventory valuation cycle: standard costing, variance analysis, and cost accounting. Manage cash applications, cash flow forecasting, and bank covenant compliance. Drive improvements in policies, internal controls, and financial procedures. Consolidate accounting functions, streamline close processes, and enforce accurate balance sheet reconciliations. Provide financial analysis and insights to support management meetings and decision-making. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four. Seniority level
