This firm is looking to bring on a mid- to senior-level consultant who thrives in solving envelope challenges—from forensics and field testing to design reviews and QA/QC oversight. Lead and support investigations of existing buildings and perform testing of glazing, cladding, and roofing systems

Review construction and design documents with a focus on building envelope details and performance

Provide QA/QC support through submittal/RFI reviews and site observations during construction

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including architects, contractors, and ownership teams

Draft clear and professional reports summarizing field findings, recommendations, and technical analysis

Participate in project meetings and client communications related to envelope issues

Help support continued growth of the NYC office by delivering high-quality service that drives referrals and repeat work

What They’re Looking For

5+ years of experience in building envelope consulting or architectural design, ideally with a focus on existing buildings or facade rehab

Strong understanding of curtain wall, window, and cladding systems—including aluminum glazing systems, sealants, insulation, and vapor/air barriers

Familiarity with NYC-specific façade requirements (Local Laws 11, 126, 97) is a plus

Skilled in reading architectural drawings and developing building envelope details/specs

Proficient with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable working outdoors on active construction sites and able to travel occasionally outside the NYC metro area

Bonus Qualifications (Not Required)

RA or PE license

Experience authoring reports under NYC’s FISP or similar programs

Competitive salary based on experience

Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition assistance, and disability insurance

Opportunities for continued training and professional development

Work closely with experienced leadership and a supportive local team
