TalentoHC is actively partnered with a PE-backed organization seeking a Technical Accounting Manager.
The Technical Accounting Manager oversees both internal and external reporting, as well as technical accounting functions. This role is responsible for preparing financial reports, developing corporate policies, analyzing accounting matters, and ensuring strong internal controls.
The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, is detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at collaborating across departments. Strong communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with bond agreements and statutory filings. Oversee board reports, interim management reports, and earnings releases. Direct the preparation of debt covenant compliance certificates. Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are well designed and effective. Manage relationships and communications with external auditors. Act as the lead on significant or unusual transactions requiring GAAP interpretation, coordinating with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and other departments. Guide the adoption and implementation of new GAAP standards, including impact assessment, planning, auditor discussions, and internal control considerations. Educate and update the accounting team on new standards and industry regulations. Assist in establishing shipboard controller roles and related internal controls. Lead the selection and implementation of reporting tools and improvements to reporting processes. Conduct initial reviews of internal reporting requirements and related documentation. Qualifications
CPA license (active) 4+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience. Background in auditing publicly traded companies, with knowledge of SEC reporting requirements. Experience with NetSuite or similar systems is a plus. Strong organizational ability and capacity to manage multiple projects.
