CIMA Plastics Group is seeking a proactive
Vice President of Operations
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leadership in plastics manufacturing, with strong technical skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements. The Vice President of Operations will oversee all aspects of the company’s manufacturing operations, supply chain, and facilities management. This strategic leader will drive operational efficiency, ensure product quality, and support scalable growth while fostering a culture of connecting, continuous improvement, collaboration and excellence. Key Responsibilities
Oversee all injection molding operations, including machine utilization, mold changes, and production scheduling. Lead with a people-first mindset, valuing and developing employees at all levels of the plant. Supervise and support shift supervisors, process technicians, material handlers, and maintenance staff. Ensure consistent part quality by enforcing process discipline and working closely with the quality team. Monitor cycle times, scrap rates, downtime, and other KPIs to drive continuous improvement. Champion lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives to reduce waste, optimize workflow, and enhance productivity. Coordinate preventive maintenance for molding machines, tooling, and auxiliary equipment. Manage resin usage, raw material inventory, and supplier relationships. Support and maintain the company’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, ensuring operational processes meet certification standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Partner with engineering on new mold trials, process optimization, and equipment upgrades. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and capital improvement planning. Recruit, train, and mentor team members to build a skilled, engaged, and high-performing workforce. Develop and nurture strong cross-functional relationships with other departments across the broader organization to ensure alignment, collaboration, and operational efficiency. Qualifications
5+ years of operations or production management experience in an injection molding environment. Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, scientific molding principles, tooling, resins, and auxiliary equipment. Proven leadership ability with a track record of valuing, motivating, and developing people. Hands-on problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action. Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methods. Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for scheduling and reporting. Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Plastics Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
