This role is an inspection-focused position. In this role you will perform documented inspections to verify conformance of parts to drawings, procedures, specifications, and all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for the content of the Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and project quality plan according to customer and Flowserve specifications and international standards, and for defining, advising and controlling all project QC documents. The QC Inspector reports to the QC Supervisor/Manager. This is a First Shift opportunity; overtime is required when necessary. Documenting dimensional and visual inspections to the drawing or applicable procedures. Documenting non-conforming material using an NCR (nonconforming materials) process. Reviewing and verifying internal and external qualifications of suppliers, welders, NDE personnel with regard to NDE, welding procedures and/or other applicable requirements. Reviewing and approving supplier manufacturing and testing documents/procedures and, when required, obtaining customer and authorized inspection body approval. Preparing and defining test and inspection requirements for projects, such as ITPs and procurement specifications. Performing any other duties assigned. Required Experience
HS Diploma / GED and 5–7 years of relevant experience. Experience with machining dimensional verification. Experience with measuring tools used in machining. Experience with reading prints. Experience / Skills
Knowledge of welding, NDE and quality systems. Knowledge of established quality standards, laws and international authoritiestions. Knowledge of inspection equipment generally found in machining, assembly and test operations. Effective utilization of CMMs is a plus. Flexible, eager to learn, accurate, analytical with a positive, can-do attitude. Flexibility and willingness to travel. Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills. Problem-solving skills; commitment to Operational Excellence and high level of customer service.
