Position Summary We are seeking a Category Manager – Indirect Procurement to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple indirect spend categories, excluding Marketing and IT. This role will be responsible for developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across professional services, facilities management, HR services, travel, office supplies, logistics, legal services, and other indirect categories. The ideal candidate will be an experienced procurement leader with strong negotiation skills, stakeholder management expertise, and a data-driven approach to optimizing spend. This role requires collaboration with Finance, Legal, HR, Real Estate, IT, Operations, and other business units to align sourcing strategies with company objectives and will lead a team of two sourcing specialists.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories, including professional services, facilities, HR, travel, fleet, office supplies, legal services, and logistics.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and process efficiencies while maintaining service levels.
Establish and report quarterly on category goals, initiatives, and key performance metrics.
Track supplier contracts, renewals, and compliance to ensure long-term value.
Supplier & Contract Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
Lead RFPs, negotiations, and supplier selection to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
Monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) and vendor performance, leading quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
Ensure contractual alignment with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies.
Market Analysis & Risk Mitigation: Stay updated on industry trends, supplier innovations, and regulatory changes in indirect procurement.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to vendor stability, compliance, and performance.
Work with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to corporate policies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, HR, Legal, Operations, and Real Estate to align sourcing initiatives with company needs.
Provide procurement expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Develop dashboards and reports to track procurement performance and category spend.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
Experience managing multiple indirect categories, such as professional services, facilities, HR, travel, or logistics.
Strong contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost optimization skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and procurement platforms (e.g., Coupa, Ariba, or similar tools) necessary to coach and develop team members.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work in-office full-time, with occasional travel (up to 20%).
