Job Overview
Impact Advisors is seeking a dynamic and motivated
Back End Operations Lead
to lead and optimize all centralized revenue cycle functions for our clients. This critical leadership role will be responsible for overseeing Scheduling, Financial Clearance, Coding, Billing, Follow-up, and Customer Service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and compliant revenue cycle services to both Acute and Ambulatory Healthcare Providers. The Director will manage operations across both domestic and offshore business office teams, driving performance excellence and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies for optimizing centralized revenue cycle operations, aligned with client goals and industry best practices. Provide comprehensive operational oversight of all centralized revenue cycle functions, including: Billing: Manage timely and accurate claim submission and denial prevention. Cash posting and reconciliation: Accurately record payments received from patients, insurance companies, and other entities into the healthcare provider's billing system while validating accuracy based on remittances, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Electronic Remittance Advice (ERAs), and other payment documentation. AR Follow-up, Denials Management and Underpayments: Drive effective accounts receivable follow-up and resolution, including denials and appeals, and underpayment opportunities. Payor and Contract Management support: Provide data and expertise to support payor contract negotiations. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of revenue cycle professionals across domestic and nearshore operations. This includes direct reports and influence over a large operational team. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track revenue cycle performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize revenue capture. Collaborate closely with internal and external client leadership to understand their unique needs, provide expert guidance, and ensure the successful implementation and ongoing optimization of revenue cycle solutions. Leverage deep expertise in the Epic EHR to optimize system utilization, workflow design, and reporting capabilities within the revenue cycle. Ensure all revenue cycle operations adhere to relevant healthcare regulations, compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, OIG), and payer requirements. Effectively manage and integrate offshore revenue cycle teams, ensuring seamless collaboration, consistent performance, and adherence to quality standards. Develop and present comprehensive reports on revenue cycle performance, trends, and opportunities to internal stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing a large health system's central business office (CBO) or similar centralized revenue cycle operations. Deep and demonstrable expertise within the Epic EHR platform, specifically related to its revenue cycle modules (Resolute Professional Billing, Hospital Billing, Grand Central, etc.). Proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing all facets of the revenue cycle, from patient access to accounts resolution. Experience leading and integrating both domestic and offshore business office operations. Strong understanding of healthcare financial operations, billing regulations, coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and payer methodologies. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels. Demonstrated ability to drive change, foster a culture of accountability, and achieve measurable results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
Additional Information
Travel: Work remotely while traveling periodically (up to 50%) for client and internal initiatives
At Impact Advisors, we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The compensation for this role includes a salary range of $125,00 to $200,000 For salaried positions, this role may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Additional benefits and perks may also be available, depending on the position and employment terms.
This range reflects consideration of several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
