Lead and manage the design of complex roadway and multimodal transportation projects, including geometric design, drainage, traffic control, and construction staging. Serve as a technical liaison with IDOT, local agencies, stakeholders, and the public to ensure compliance with state and federal standards. Oversee project delivery from concept through construction, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Support business development through proposal writing, client engagement, and strategic planning. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Active Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering, with a strong portfolio of IDOT or Illinois Tollway projects. Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer, and other design software. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with alternative delivery methods (CMGC, DB, PDB). Familiarity with IDOT’s Bureau of Design and Environment (BDE) Manual and Phase I / II documentation. Previous involvement in stakeholder engagement or public meetings. Soft Skills & Cultural Fit

The base salary range for this position in Illinois is $112,000 to $184,000.
