Manager - Civil Engineering, Transportation

As an integral member of our leadership team and a technical leader, you will oversee our Transportation Team in new and existing IDOT, CDOT, Illinois Tollway, Cook County, and municipal projects. In addition, you will be responsible for the quality, schedule, and productivity of our work. You will lead the energetic transportation team while aiming for significant growth nationally both in head count, revenue, and even to reach a level of independence as a standalone business unit with your contribution. It is all within reach, as we add more strong leaders to our Milhouse Family! Please note this role will follow our hybrid schedule of 4 days in-office at either our downtown Chicago office or Lombard office. What You Will Do:

Supervise and/or perform work involving the preparation of roadway and highway design using the appropriate client standards at both conceptual and final design levels. Assume Project Manager roles, depending on the project. Maintain and develop client relationships. Manage the quality, schedule, and budget of transportation projects to meet client and company requirements. Create and execute project plans, respond to client requirements promptly, and recommend operational improvements. Prepare technical proposals and collaborate with the Marketing Department. Grow the backlog of transportation work and ensure group profitability. Ensure Quality Assurance/Quality Control is performed on every project. Coach, mentor, and develop staff. Create and enforce project quality plans. What We Are Looking For:

Thorough knowledge of MicroStation. Experience with OpenRoads, AutoTURN, and other Bentley and vendor transportation software. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Membership in a professional organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Your Background:

Civil Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited institution. Minimum of 10 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience, including 5 years managing design teams. Proven experience working with IDOT, CDOT, CCDOTH, Tollway, and area municipalities. Registration as a Professional Civil or Structural Engineer; Illinois PE registration required.
