14 | Total Headcount: 240+ About the Opportunity A leading automotive supplier is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Plant Director to lead a complex manufacturing operation with both serial and service part production. This site is a critical supplier to major OEMs. The ideal candidate will be a proven change agent, passionate about operational excellence, and ready to drive transformation in a challenging, multi-customer environment. Key Responsibilities
Lead and Inspire: Direct all plant operations, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across a diverse team. Drive Performance: Deliver on key operational metrics—safety, quality, cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction—by implementing robust action plans and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives. P&L Ownership: Manage site financials, including gross margin, labor, and non-quality costs. Demonstrate agility in flexing resources and taking calculated risks to optimize performance. Transform and Modernize: Champion change initiatives, revamp legacy processes, and build a high-performing management team. Balance the needs of both serial and service parts production, which represent a significant portion of plant activity. Customer Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key OEM customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service and responsiveness. Talent Development: Mentor and develop direct reports, instilling a results-driven mindset and supporting career growth within the organization. Operational Excellence: Deploy lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance competitiveness and efficiency. Compliance & Community: Ensure adherence to all safety, environmental, and corporate policies. Represent the plant with local authorities and the broader community. Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience: Minimum 5 years in plant management within a Tier 1 automotive environment. Exposure to injection molding, paint, or similar technologies is a plus. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead managers and large teams through change, with a track record of delivering results in complex, fast-paced settings. Hands-On Approach: Not just a strategist—someone who is visible on the floor, drives action, and motivates teams by example. Change Agent: Comfortable challenging the status quo, revamping teams, and implementing new ways of working. People Skills: Strong communicator, motivator, and relationship builder—able to balance compassion with high expectations. Language: Spanish proficiency is a plus.
