A full-time position at Trinity Prep consists of serving as an advisor, teaching 5 classes, and assuming additional duties as assigned. All faculty are expected to have a plus one, a major leadership responsibility outside of the classroom. This teacher-coach collaborates with other teachers and administrators to develop, evaluate, and revise school programs to ensure students are prepared for the next grade. Trinity Prep coaches encourage multi-sport participation to foster a sense of belonging.

Position Summary:

Trinity Prep seeks an academic instructor to be the Head Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Coach responsible for building, leading, and managing all aspects of the varsity program (athlete development, program planning, and fostering a competitive, character-driven team culture aligned with TPSF’s mission and values). This position will remain open until filled.

This position requires adherence to Trinity Prep and the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) policies, rules, and regulations. The coach will lead assistant coaches and guide overall team performance. The ideal candidate will bring vision, energy, and leadership to:

Expand participation across grades 6-12

Develop a middle school program

Design and implement a comprehensive, year-round lacrosse program including Fall Ball, in-season practices, film study, strength & conditioning, and summer travel tournaments/camps

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

Prepare lesson materials, grade papers, manage the classroom, and evaluate and give feedback to students in health, physical education, and wellness courses as deemed appropriate.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and determine priorities when necessary.

Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs.

Perform job-related duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities The following list provides examples of the most typical duties for the lacrosse coach at Trinity Prep:

Collaborate with the Director of Athletics on scheduling, budgeting, alumni engagement, and facilities

Serve as a positive ambassador for the TPSF athletics department and the sport of lacrosse in the broader community

Generate a schedule with the supervisor for all teams in the program

Support college recruitment efforts in collaboration with the College Counseling Office under the supervision of the Athletic Department

Maintain wellness and competition records

Provide feedback and coaching to team members individually and in groups while demonstrating game techniques throughout the season

Observe and guide the discipline and conduct of student athletes to reinforce our core values, specifically our belief in the educational excellence of the athletics program

Perform job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the international equivalent with a focus in a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of coaching/playing experience at the secondary, club, or collegiate level.

Promotes an inclusive environment that values, encourages, and supports differences and articulates an authentic commitment to diversity in thought and perspective while holding others accountable for the same.

Proven knowledge, skills, and strategies for the sport; ability to lead and grow a program; and player development.

Understanding of the rules and regulations governing the sport.

Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop student athletes in and out of the pool.

Focus on playing fair and adhering to the organization’s code of conduct.

Facilitating dispute resolution within the team structure to improve teamwork.

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills with other coaches, student athletes, parents, and organization members.

Ability to help all players improve through practices and individual coaching.

Creating a safe environment designed to keep athletes healthy and injury-free.

Must pass a Jessica Lunsford Level II background check and drug test.

Certifications Required

CPR/AED/First Aid can be obtained upon hiring.

FHSAA coaching certifications (or willingness to obtain).
