Pay Details The projected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This is the targeted range of possible compensation at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. Base pay within the range is determined by the candidate’s skills, expertise, and experience as it relates to the position qualifications and responsibilities.

Job Description This position supports the Campus Rentals team and approval duties within the ArtsVision scheduling software for internal and external use of theatrical and non-theatrical venues across the Kennedy Center campus. Serves as primary logistician and manager of events within the Center and REACH, with ticketed components for private or public events, considering patron, artist and staff needs.

The Assistant Manager represents the Kennedy Center to clients seeking to contract space, handles rental inquiries, creates license agreements, and ensures programs run in an organized manner with a focus on customer service, in line with Center policies. This role coordinates with Campus Rentals, Production, and Facilities to ensure spaces are fully utilized.

The Assistant Manager supports the Director of Campus Planning and Rentals with budgeting reports. They oversee the Campus Rentals inquiry inbox, distribute email inquiries to assigned staff, and input rental inquiry details into CRM software, maintaining entries throughout the rental process.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate licensing and production aspects for all rental events, provide cost estimates, create license agreements, process deposits, advance the program, present settlements to clients, and maintain client relations with a focus on service and retention. Confirm details pre-event and coordinate with internal departments for event support. Finalize post-event billing and collect outstanding balances.

Oversee inquiry email inbox, assess calendar availability, respond to contracted rental clients, and interact with prospective clients in the Manager’s absence. Ensure effective management of all rental details.

Maintain administrative organization of the CRM Software in collaboration with the Campus Rentals team.

Maintain and coordinate schedules through ArtsVision; serve as master user and approver for internal and external inquiries. Ensure consistent data entry in ArtsVision.

Identify and coordinate additional opportunities for using Kennedy Center spaces.

Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two to five years’ experience in theater, events, or production management required.

Proficiency in ArtsVision preferred; demonstrated knowledge of venue management and related calendar software.

Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of ArtsVision or similar venue calendar software.

Outstanding organization and communication skills.

Strong business judgment in contractual obligations, artist hospitality, event billing, and front/back of house operations.

Ability to work under deadlines and multi-task a range of projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse stakeholders; problem solving and logistics-focused decision making.

Local candidate or willingness to relocate to the DMV area. Relocation assistance not provided.

Willingness to work onsite.
