Overview
KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position supports the Hemisphere contract in El Segundo, CA, with a focus on acquisition contracting for Space Systems Command (SSC). The role involves participating in source selections, advising, and contract management to enable programmatic goals and successful execution. Responsibilities
Apply expertise in FAR, DFARS, and DoD contracting protocols, including traditional acquisitions and modern, agile methodologies under the Adaptive Acquisition Framework. Navigate and manage contracting actions such as change proposals, solicitations, funding modifications, and award/incentive fee management. Manage event-based processing of contractual documentation throughout phases, milestones, and reviews for mission programs. Prioritize tasks proactively and work with team members with minimal supervision. Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; mitigate problems and challenges proactively. Contribute to government contract requests for proposals, technical evaluations, negotiations, and administration; facilitate informed decision-making. Provide contract guidance and determinations; advise management on contractual rights, obligations, risk, strategy, and problem solving. Interpret contract terms to ensure compliance and provide guidance to the business team. Ensure timely review and communication of contract modifications and notices to the business team. Assist with approvals prior to contract submission, ensuring regulatory adherence and organizational protocols. Demonstrate awareness of U.S. Space Force organizations and align objectives with customer and stakeholder needs. Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and effective leadership to foster team collaboration. Qualifications
Required
15+ years of DoD/Air Force/SSC contracts and subcontracts experience across the full acquisition lifecycle. Master’s degree in technical management (business administration, project management). Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Desired
FAC-C certification. CPCM certification. Previous Procurement Contracting Officer (PCO) or Buyer experience. Compensation
Basic Compensation:
$150,000 - $180,000. The offered rate depends on location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, clearance, contract affordability, and internal parity. Additional Compensation:
Bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation per policy or designation, including sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short/long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. Benefits
